Can someone live without being envious or jealous of people?
Men are by nature envious and full of jealousy. These has been written in the bible. One, is when Cain killed his brother Abel because God liked the latter's offering. Second is when Joseph's brothers sold him because their father loved Joseph than them.
Envy and jealousy takes place when we are not contented with what we have. We feel jealous when someone acquires something. We envy someone who acquires something which we do not have. Because of this, evil things are given birth. Because we envy them, we tend to imitate them. We also buy things that others have even if it is not needed just to show off. But if we are unable to keep up with them, we fabricate news so that their image will be tarnished.
However, even if we are born envious and jealous, I believe we can live without it. What we need to do is to be contented and to be happy with what we have and what we are. Let us live as what we are, not what we want others to perceive us. I'd rather live being poor but contented than being rich but unhappy.
