Ocean of Reception

What do you find when you turn your attention right to the present experience, to what is actually happening right now where you are? Do you find anything here that is stationary, unchanging, and immobile? Do you find a separate and lasting self here? Can you find anything fixed here in my name? Or do you find that everything here is constantly changing, moving and dancing moment by moment?

Thoughts all appear and disappear by themselves. Images, memories, and ideas all suddenly appear in consciousness, last for a while, and then disappear. All kinds of emotions come and go; Sadness, boredom, failure, anger, fear. Emotions happen all over the body. Sounds come from nowhere: outside traffic, the buzz of the TV, the sound of a collision in the sound of your own breathing, the singing of a bird: chirp!

During the day, all kinds of thoughts, feelings and sounds rise and fall in the ocean of consciousness that you are. Everything that appears in consciousness can be seen as a wave of experience. A thought is a wave. A sound is a wave. A feeling is a wave. All of these intellectual, sound, emotional, and sensory waves appear and disappear in the open air of consciousness - the vast ocean that you are inherently one with.

Can you recognize that your life experience is always simply a current dance of waves and it all happens in the vast ocean that you are in? (And instead of the word ocean, you can substitute the word consciousness or consciousness or existence or presence - or any word you deem appropriate for the fact that goes beyond words. I use swaps. The person you really are does not care what you call it).
