Peak District, medicine for the soul
Hello Hive and Happy Holidays!
During this season we should think about things that make us happy.
One of the things that make me truly happy is hiking.
I bloody love hiking.
No signal, no people (except your fellowship) no noise pollution, just nature.
Random rabbit here and there, tiny bird giving you a heart attack when it flys off a tree and despite it's size, it sounds like a damn bear.
You know, the joy.
I am super lucky to live maybe 30-40min from Peak District!
West Yorkshire is like my favourite place in the whole world, call me small minded but it really brings the happiness.
Also whenever I take a picture in Peak District it looks like Windows XP desktop picture ๐ ๐ Love it, brings childhood memories!
There are many places in Yorkshire that I love, many places that I have so many good memories with.
Especially the Cow and Calf in Ilkley!
My best friend visited me all the way from Bristol and I said we are going hiking because it's beautiful here and he laughed at me. Apparently hiking is for old boring people.
Managed to convince him, under one condition; if he doesn't like it, we coming back.
However, when we got there he was already super hyped because 'omg it's so greeeeeen' so I felt like an absolute winner ๐
I can sum up his experience using just one picture :
Now, every year we are going hiking, this year we went to Wales but I will tell that story one day ๐ ๐
Hiking is something that I love, it makes me feel alive but unfortunately in my case it doesn't come pain free.
I suffer with a few medical conditions and one of them is fibromyalgia.
Infuriating illness that is technically invisible, unfortunately very very difficult to have.
I struggle with pain a lot, hiking makes it hella worse but it's my guilty pleasure.
I can't stop living my life just because I'm ill.
It won't go away so I may as well enjoy a little walk in the nature that is good for the soul long term, pain is mostly temporary ๐
