So friends, I have been missing from the #wednesdaywalk since the end of November! It has been mostly rainy, or dreary, or I have been lazy, etc.. So today I said I am going out and see what I can see. The back (North Mud Bridge) is out, and has been since X-Mas, so can't go that way. Southern bridge is also down to one lane, so I choose to stay around here. The 20 mile (and even more) detours are a bit much. So I went over to "Dim Witt" park again, first time this year!
So here is where you drive in,

And first thing is the fountain, I believe they are thinking about hot dogs in cars..

And here is a picnic area, I never paid attention to them before, so I did not notice the barbecue grills they put in,
nice of them to do that.😁

From there if we turn around we have a shade structure, no this will not block rain!

And here is "five laughing gulls" that I saw on one of the outcroppings from the fishing pier,

And this is how "unusually clear" the water was today,

Another Gull on a pole out in the water,

And a line of poles. A long, long time ago this was a pier, but got demolished after a storm,

Here is a Duck that was out there the whole time I was at the park,

And here it's getting "dive bombed" by a Gull,

This is the actual fishing pier,

And to the side we have the "Duck, Swan, Gull, Crane, Heron, and Pelican hatchery, (sorry I didn't get closer).
In the background is the JFK causeway, in about 5 miles is where it gets cut to one lane..Just before Padre Island...

Here is the coastline here, "Rocks"..

And Closer..

In between the rocks and along the coast grows this! It's called, "Glasswort, or Pickleweed". It literally grows everywhere!

A quick view out to the Intercoastal Waterway, on the far side is Padre Island. Beyond that is the Gulf of Mexico,

And a little further down,

And the trail back to the parking area.

I hope you enjoyed our little trip around the south side of Dim Witt Park!
Thank You for Stopping by!
Stay Blessed and Safe, Always!
