Homemade Panipuri
Panipuri also known as Golgappa is a popular street food of India. The Puri is hollow sphere which is crispy and all the other delicious items go into it like the mashed potatoes and spicy and sour water. The main hassle with this street food is that making Puri requires a dexterity. While one can buy it from the vendor shop, nothing beats the taste and quality made in home because as it is not only fresh but also healthy. My wife wanted to give a first try making Puri at home as it is one of her favourite food. She made a dough by mixing semolina(suji) with a pinch of salt and water. A small piece is taken and then flattened into circular shape and fried in hot oil which will then give the one as above. It was not perfect but at least good.
The spicy sour water is made from tamarind along with other ingredients like salt, chili powder, coriander and so on.
A mashed potatoes along with some onion, coriander and noodles is put inside the hollow crispy Puri and then spicy water is poured inside it and eaten like this.
