Exploring Flavoursome Veggie Indian Cuisines
One of the must try dish while in Australia is Indian cuisine without a doubt. Indian cuisines are well-known for their distinctive flavor and their own spices. Last Sunday, I had an opportunity to go to Indian restaurant here in Perth that only serves vegetarian food. India is also known for its street food culture and its always appealing when you see them in TV, or social media sites. Being here in Australia, you don't have to go to India to try out those foods. That's one of the benefits of living in a multi-cultural country.
The above food is known as Dahi Papdi Chat. Papdi is crispy made of wheat, which you can't see in the above photo as it has been topped up with yoghurt. They also put yogurt and chickpeas curry along with other flavorful spices and this one is a must try if you love tangy and spicy flavor.
This food was also my first try and it didn't really kill my expectations. Its known as "Nutri Keema Kulcha". Nutri means soya nuggets which is minced while preparing and then served with Kulcha (the flatbread in the photo).
This one is well known to everybody and is found everywhere in India. The name is "Chole Bhature". Chole means chickpeas curry and bhature means deep fried fluffy bread as you can see in the photo above.
I really loved sweet drinks so I also had Mango Lassi. They gave me one with saffron flavor and it was so tasty that I'd like to go there for sure next time. I came to know later all of these dishes originate from North India so they have all North Indian dishes. If you go to other Indian restaurants like South Indian you will find a different foods.
