Latest Ankara Upper body illustration

Hey mates, how's it been? It's another Monday, a start of another creative week and passion, God I missed this, it's been long since I made a tutorial, just observing and astonished by you're creative mind, ideas, patterns, tips, and I got inspired to make something new, something I find fickle and bit tricky, so here I would like to share this Ankara Upper body illustration I made for a client with y'all, and I would like y'all to walk with me through out this process.

STEP 1:

Cut a sufficient fabric for both front and back of the body, the style is not a breast dart of any kind, it is actually flat opened chest line.

STEP 2:

Draft an ordinary flat body like this, both front and back together, make sure the front is like 2 inches shorter than the back if you intended to archive the turtle collar exactly the way it is.

STEP 3:

Stitch the zip allowance together first, split the front and align it properly to the back body.

STEP 4:

as you cut the front neck, let the back neck be high to get a perfect turtle collar.

STEP 5:

this is how you split the front, just a simple way to try, mind you the dress was cut flat, but you can attach a corset cup inside if you want, your choice.

STEP 6:

The close up of the split between the burst is connected by accessories, one side of the dress looks like off shoulder and it's bit confusing, but this is the easiest way to achieve this style.

STEP 7:

The little structure on the sleeve is just a full flay with Caroline on the inside, you can get any accessories to cover all the shoulder part.

STEP 8:

This is how you cut the flay, there are two of them, first step and the second step.

STEP 9:

Final result, rate my work illustration, teaching is like a skill on its own, it ain't easy, but with time I will start making YouTube videos, so bare with me for now.
