Thoughts On Abortion and the Alabama Law

Alabama passed a law which bans abortion except if the mother’s life is in danger, continuing the heated debate on this wedge issue. Most likely the pro-lifers have overextended, but this might be a deliberate attempt to challenge Roe Vs. Wade in the Supreme Court.
There are arguments on both sides, but the main argument seems to be “is it ending a human life or not?” Pro-choice advocates argue that fetuses are either not human beings, not alive or both. In my opinion, this is a bad argument that denies reality, and I became pro-life after Democrats jumped the shark and started arguing to kill babies after they’re born. (Gov. Northam is on video saying this, it’s a fact.)
Pro-life advocates consistently say taking an innocent human life is wrong, and when you see it that way, almost all the arguments from the other side seem meaningless. The mother’s health, rape and incest are all legitimate concerns, but this is relevant in a small percentage of abortions. Unlike the Alabama bill, which only makes an exemption for the health of the mother, the Georgia Heartbeat Bill not only allows abortions in the first 6 weeks, but makes exemptions for these cases. This satisfies very few pro-choice advocates. In my opinion, this law is more consistent with the view of most Americans, who are more inclined to be pro-choice for the first trimester, but it is a polarizing issue.
If Roe Vs. Wade was overturned, this would not outlaw abortion nationwide, but would leave it up to the states, as it was before.
It’s not a debate that will end soon, but please be honest and argue in good faith.
