When Bills Burn Brighter Than Our Lights: A Filipino’s Cry Against MERALCO’s Soaring Electricity Charges

Hello Hive Fam, most especially my ever-supportive Hive Friends all over the world! 🌍💙

Today, I just need to let out what’s been weighing heavily on many of us Filipinos: our electricity bill problems with MERALCO.

Lately, all electric bills have skyrocketed, and it’s no surprise that Filipinos everywhere are complaining. We’re struggling to keep up with paying our utility bills, especially the electric bills that seem to grow higher each month.

MERALCO did issue an order to temporarily stop disconnections for unpaid bills from May to July. At first glance, this looked like a relief, but honestly, it feels more like a band-aid solution. Because in the end, we still need to pay those expensive bills and the burden doesn’t go away.

It’s frustrating, exhausting, and unfair. Families are forced to cut back on essentials just to keep the lights on. And while we rant, complain, and talk about it here, the reality is that this issue touches every Filipino household.

Thank you, Hive Fam, for always being here to listen and share in these struggles. Sometimes, just knowing that our voices are heard makes the load a little lighter. Let’s continue to support each other, rant when we need to, and hope for better solutions in the future.
