Week 08 Response - Taking Back Our Natural Rights

This post is in response to the question, “How can the citizens of the United States take back their initial natural rights?” by @llyran-noble

I don’t know if there is a single way to fix our problems, but I believe a great first step for citizens of the United States to take back their initial natural rights is by exercising the rights we currently have. Throughout time, political participation among people - especially younger people - has been very low. It is no wonder that the government has taken an unpopular turn when people have not been doing their part to tailor the system. If we begin to stress the importance of knowing what is happening around the world and within our political system, then I believe we will begin to see an increase in participation. Personally, I was never raised to have a voice, even though I legally always have had one. We are taught to leave politics to older people because they know better. This is far from reality. Our voices are just as important as anyone else’s. All we need to do is begin to take ownership of our futures.
