A Quality Tme With the Family

Due to the nature of work I have had for more than twenty years, I seldom spent the Yuletide holidays with my family and my kids, especially my two daughters, who grew up without having me by their side during those days, as my wife would bring them to my in-laws or to my sister's house and celebrate the occasion with them while I was at work, unlike my son, who is the eldest child, and I was always around at home during those times. However, things became different last year as my son is working somewhere in Metro Manila, and his departure from that place to spend his vacation here in the province was delayed for convenience as the terminals are usually jam-packed with people and to make sure that he will have a ride going home as the shortage of buses usually occurs at those times. Then one morning, my eldest daughter, who is having her on-the-job training in Laguna, messaged her mom that she would be arriving anytime before the weekend to spend the holidays. When she arrived, we agreed to have an early celebration on the 15th day of December, which was Friday here in the Philippines, as I would be having my day off on that day. So together with my wife, we went to Masisseoyo Samgyup Restaurant, located about 3 kilometers away from home, along with our two daughters, who treated us to a taste of Korean food, and we ordered samgyupsal, which consist of bacon that we fried on the spot, then we wrapped them on fresh lettuce leaves, which I love to munch while my two daughters are busy frying the bacon, and it's my first time to enter a Korean-inspired restaurant. I am so glad that finally I was able to join my two daughters on this occasion in spite of the absence of their big brother, who cannot be with us on time, and we planned to have another dinner with them when everyone is around, as I will be more happy when that time comes.
