Why Maya?

So I was curious why inleo reached across the blockchains to swap hive for bitcoin via Maya Protocol.

I read a few posts by @shortsegments and I learned it's all about not your keys, not your crypto.

Basically cryptos biggest innovation is cryptographic protection of your crypto in your wallet by your keys, and most investments make you give up that protection to invest. Thorchains big purpose was to fix this, and Maya's purpose is to allow smaller blockchains to participate.

Its simple, it's about safety. It is highly technical to understand how it works, but simple to understand why it exists.
