Stablecoins Hit the Riviera: Binance Pay Now Live at Dozens of French Merchants
Binance Pay has gone live across the French Riviera, enabling users to spend stablecoins like USDT and FDUSD at over 80 local merchants. Partnering with the Lyzi payments app, Binance aims to make crypto part of everyday life, letting tourists and locals pay for food, fashion, wellness, and entertainment using a simple QR code.
This launch highlights Binance’s push to move beyond crypto trading and into real-world utility. Payments are fast, settled directly from a user’s crypto wallet without converting to euros. France’s supportive crypto regulations and tech-friendly environment made it a strategic choice for this pilot.
By using stablecoins, which offer price stability, merchants avoid the volatility of other cryptocurrencies. If successful, Binance plans to expand this model across Europe, making crypto spending a regular part of daily commerce.
