Homegrown Salsa
Besides a couple of potted fruit trees, my back patio "garden" includes three different pepper plants and a tomato plant. Recently, the Carolina Reaper pepper plant produced a ripe pepper. Finally! A chance to make some salsa.
I used the following ingredients: 3 tomatoes, 1/4 onion, a small bunch of cilantro, 1 garlic clove, olive oil and, of course, the Carolina Reaper pepper.
I blended the the pepper, the tomatoes, and the garlic in a food processor. Then I added the blend to a little olive oil in a pan and heated on medium just till the mixture started to boil. I removed the pan from the heat and allowed it to cool.
Meanwhile, I chopped the onions and cut up the cilantro.
Then, I stirred the onions and cilantro into the cooled mixture, and grabbed some chips. Yummy! Well, HOT, but yummy ;)
