It arrives quietly,
balanced on a small smile
that has already learned restraint.

Hands fold into each other
not out of fear,
but habit.
As if holding oneself
is the first language we learn.

The light is gentle here—
not because life is,
but because the child is still deciding
how much of it to believe.

Nothing is broken yet.
Nothing is safe either.
Only this moment,
brief and warm,
learning how to stay.
