Finally Dry! Update on Dried Chillies

Finally after 2 weeks of drying chillies, We got our first batch, ready for storage. The normal drying time of chillies is around 8-9 days, but because of rains and typhoon it tooks us 14 days to dry it.
The dried chillies was stored in a plastic bag and weigh 10 kilos each.

Working on dried chillies can be irritating for the first timer. You need some protection like gloves and cover on your whole face. It can irritate and burn your skins and eyes. I usually used hand gloves, facemask, and glasses while working on chillies. After or during the work, you should never touch any part of your body or else the skin you touch will feel a burning sensation and it is not pleasant. Even after washing your hand with soap and water, you can still feel the burning sensation that will last for few hours but this will eventually gone on its own.

So now, after contacting few people, I'm expecting another batches of newly harvested chilies. This will be dried again. The price is still doable and we will keep buying until we meet our capacity.

After calculating expenses and recovery, I feel that we had a good stack this year. From the original weight of fresh chillies, I got 23.5% recovery which is very good. I had a forecast that before the end of this year, chilli price will spike and the plan was actually sell all this year.
