First time catching King crab...
Since we are in Alaska you can catch crabs by dropping a cage and pulling it out a few hours later you can catch indigenous crabs.
So we finally find a spot to go crabbing and drop our cage down. . .
And wait for a few hours. . .
Just before we wanted to pull up the cage we got sunshine.
We left with our skiff and pull it up, you won't believe what we saw. We pulled out 8 crabs and 2 king crabs - usually you don't catch Kings especially in 20 meters of water - this was the first time we have caught King crab!
Sadly one of the Kings crab was a female and that's why you can not take them with you.
Take a look at this.. .
Just barely fit into our cooler.
We cooked the crabs and picked all the meat out - the best meat l have ever tasted in my life. . .
l hope you have enjoyed my blog - if you did consider leaving a comment or follow me to join along my adventures.
See you, until next time!
