Vaquería en la fiesta de Tixkokob, Yucatán, México.

La cultura y las tradiciones son muy importantes, forman parte de la identidad de cada pueblo, en esta ocasión les quiero compartir un poco de lo que vivimos el sábado al asistir a la fiesta del pueblo de Tixkokob, localidad en donde vive mi mamá y parte de mi familia.

Les comento que casi no voy al pueblo, y menos en la época en la que se realiza la fiesta, realmente no hay ninguna razón oculta, pero generalmente me centro en mis actividades cotidianas y pues eso no se me hacía una prioridad, en esta ocasión mi hija me comentó que tenía ganas de ir, y pues nos lanzamos, durante la tarde estuvimos con mi mamá en su casa, por la noche fuimos a la vaquería, que es por tradición el inicio de las fiestas patronales.

Podría pensarse que en una vaquería hay vaqueros o algo parecido, Pero no, en la vaquería se le agradece al santo patrono de la localidad, en este caso es San Bernardino de Siena, y acuden Mestizos de varias localidades con vestidos de gala para bailar jarana durante toda la noche, también van orquestas jaraneras para amenizar la noche, es un verdadero agasajo ver tanta gente que ama sus tradiciones, verlos vestidos de gala con bordados multicolores impresionantes, la mujer con su terno, maquilladas muy bonitas con tocados de flores en la cabeza y los hombres con su guayabera bordada con diferentes detalles, calzados con alpargatas con las que bailan durante toda la noche.

Culture and traditions are very important, they are part of the identity of each town, on this occasion I want to share with you a little of what we experienced on Saturday when we attended the town festival in Tixkokob, the town where my mom and part of my family live.

I tell you that I almost never go to the town, and less in the time when the festival takes place, there really is no hidden reason, but I usually focus on my daily activities and that was not a priority for me, this time my daughter told me that she wanted to go, and so we went, during the afternoon we were with my mom at her house, at night we went to the vaquería, which is traditionally the beginning of the patron saint's festivities.

You might think that in a vaquería there are cowboys or something like that, but no, in the vaquería the patron saint of the town is thanked, in this case it is San Bernardino de Siena, and Mestizos from various towns come dressed in gala dresses to dance jarana all night long, there are also jaranero orchestras to liven up the night, It is a real pleasure to see so many people who love their traditions, to see them dressed in gala dresses with impressive multicolored embroidery, the women with their terno, with beautiful make-up and flower headdresses on their heads and the men with their guayabera embroidered with different details, wearing espadrilles with which they dance all night long.

Cerca de la iglesia hay una sección donde puedes tomarte fotos con la familia , en verdad es divertido, también puedes asistir con amigos y disfrutar de todas las atracciones, nosotros no pudimos quedarnos mas días ya que el trabajo nos lo impidió, pero en días siguientes se puede asistir a los gremios y por la noche el tan esperado baile en el que generalmente tocan grupos locales todo tipo de música.
