Why I'm Called - Venus

I am Venus.

I am the second planet from the Sun.

My name was given in antiquity (observed by Babylonians ~2000 BCE).

I was named by Ancient Babylonians (as Ishtar), Greeks (as Aphrodite), Romans (as Venus).

My name was chosen for my brilliant appearance, evoking beauty and love; Greeks initially called me Phosphoros (morning star) and Hesperos (evening star) before realizing they were both me.

My name means Roman goddess of love and beauty (equivalent to Greek Aphrodite).

An interesting fact is ancient Greeks like Pythagoras were among the first to realize Venus was both the morning and evening star, a key insight in early astronomy.
