Why I'm Called - Pluto
I am Pluto.
I am a dwarf planet(?) in the Kuiper Belt.
My name was given in 1930.
I was named by Venetia Burney (suggested the name, aged 11); adopted by Lowell Observatory team after Clyde Tombaugh's discovery.
My name came about when Tombaugh discovered it while searching for "Planet X"; the name was chosen from suggestions, fitting the cold, distant body and honoring Percival Lowell (initials PL).
My name means Roman god of the underworld, who could become invisible.
An interesting fact is my name was suggested by a schoolgirl inspired by mythology; A 2006 debate lead to the dwarf planet category.
