Why I'm Called - Neptune
I am Neptune.
I am the eighth planet from the Sun.
My name was given in 1846.
I was named by Urbain Le Verrier (predicted it mathematically) and Johann Galle (observed it).
I was predicted via gravitational effects on Uranus; named after the sea god to continue Roman mythology, fitting my blue color observed later.
My name means Roman god of the sea.
An interesting fact is Neptune was the first planet found through mathematical prediction rather than direct observation, showcasing 19th-century astronomy advances.
