Why I'm Called - Borrelly Comet
I am Borrelly Comet.
I am a comet visited by NASA's Deep Space 1 mission.
My name was given in 1904.
I was named by Alphonse Borrelly.
I'm named after Alphonse Borrelly, the astronomer who discovered me.
An interesting fact is Borrelly was the target of NASA's Deep Space 1 mission in 2001, which captured detailed images of its nucleus, revealing a dry, dark surface with jets of dust and gas.
