Tarn Hut, NZ
In the high country of North Canterbury, New Zealand, is a little hut that sits on the top of a ridge near a tarn (small lake or pond).
It's a few hours walk up some steep slopes, however once there it has amazing views and is like being in the middle of nowhere.
Above the tree line at the start of winter is pretty cold, but worth it.
Even a rainbow to enjoy.
