Starlink, Moonlink and Marslink: Part 2 - Moonlink

Moonlink - Starlink around the Moon

Moonlink is a simple and logical extension to the Starlink network as it is close enough to Earth to integrate simply.

Why Moonlink?

Much of the new moon mission equipment is designed to use 4GLTE comms, so having a reliable network around the Moon will enhance mission success.

When?

It would be good to have this in place before the first planed HLS Starship landing in mid-2026, and certainly before crewed landing in 2027.

How?

Refuel Starship in LEO, then it can travel to the Moon, deploy and return. Probably two Starship deployments would be enough depending on the final size of the ship.
