The match between Nigeria and Gabon was really an intense one, with a touch of “light at the end of the tunnel” for me.

The match started with good dominance from Nigeria, while Gabon settled for defence and counter-attacks because they knew what Nigeria could do. There were a lot of chances missed by Nigeria in the first half, but when it got to the second half, Adams capitalised on a mistake by the Gabon defence with one goal. Gabon came out attacking and their pressure paid off in the 89th minute when they equalised, and the match extended to an extra time of 30 minutes (15 minutes each half).

Nigeria’s superiority got unleashed and a total of three goals were scored in the extra 30 minutes. Ejuke recorded his first-ever goal for the Super Eagles, while Osimhen, despite his numerous misses throughout the night, scored two. The match ended 4:1 in favour of Nigeria and Gabon were knocked out.
