[WE106] Weekend-Engagement Concept: Dealing With Conflicts

As humans, conflicts are pretty much unavoidable and even though we try to avoid it, it most likely will happen at least once or twice in our lifetime due to varying reasons.

When I was younger, I use to try my best to avoid conflicts, I would go against my will to make people happy, and even take any behavior from people just so there were no arguments but, things changed as I grew older.

As I grew older, I began realizing that I was a footmat for so many people, and I always had things bottled up because I wasn't expressive so, I decided to begin facing things head on which made a lot of difference.

These days, whenever there is a conflict, I make sure to say what I feel, resolve it and move past it immediately, but, this doesn't exactly work for everything and everyone.

There are times when some people are more challenging and they make it difficult, like when I had a misunderstanding with my best friend, while I was trying to talk things through and get over it, she was being unresponsive and this dragged our issues for months.

Even though we finally dealt with it, it took time which affected our friendship a lot more than it should have which proved that certain conflicts need to be dealt with head on.

Personally, while I love the way I deal with conflict, I believe it doesn't work for everyone because some people do need time to figure things out, and right now, I am learning to have a balance.
