The Snitch

"One of us is a snitch", said Katie boldly, her eyes scanning the group. The tension grew thicker as the four teens stood in a tense circle, trying to figure out who had betrayed them.

Matt their fifth friend was in deep trouble, The teacher had discovered he'd been cheating on the final exam, a secret only their tight-kniy group had known. Now someone had talked.

"We must cull the heard", Matt declared, his voice was tight with anger. "We don't need a snitch in our group". He muttered under his breath, yet loud enough for everyone to hear," Someone just broke the code".

Suddenly, Amy spoke up, "Could it be that nosy girl who won't stay out of our business?" She suggested, refering to heir sworn nemesis, Lily.

A wave of relief washed over the group as they latched onto the possibility. The tension had erased for now. They had a suspect, and their circle felt safe again. But the question remained.

Was Lily really the snitch, or was the betrayer still among them?.
