Living the present

How often can we appreciate how the past intrudes on the present as something everyday, as we live with a "backpack" full of experiences that have become stored in our memory?

Sometimes these past experiences prevent us from starting something new because we prefer to remain in the world we have been creating or recomposing in some way:

risking reliving what was unpleasant. I mean, we can feel how this desire to never relive similar events has grown so strong that it has turned into fear.

I thought we have learned a lot and therefore changed since those experiences of the "wounded child" occurred... as if that energy were independent of everything we understood about those experiences.

But I have also felt more intensely these days that if there is anything important to occupy our time with, it is to always try to trust in ourselves and in life.

Perhaps it is also necessary for us to free ourselves, to the extent we can, from any expectations, whether based on fear or hope.

We do ourselves and others a disservice when we idealize, because in a way we pigeonhole the person with an image and condemn them when they don't resemble the ideal we've forged of them and believe we need.

There seem to be two important factors to consider that can occur in a relationship:
. Our recurrence of reliving past behaviors and reactions,
. plus the expectations or hopes we have for the future.

It is essential that we free ourselves and others from this yoke if we want to enjoy a renewed present and also the potential blessings we have acquired through our experiences, instead of the resistance produced by our fears.

It is only about flowing with what is presented to us without having to worry about anything, because life is in charge of settling everything, and no matter how much we hide or do not want to see or experience something

If we have not yet smoothed out certain psychological rough edges, it will present them to us as soon as possible... and these are the best moments to surrender to the investigation because if we run away from it, it will present itself to us again until we become aware and free ourselves from all our fears because this "Journey" is Life and "Everything else is superfluous."

¡Hi, PeakD community! I'm Ketzali, a 69-year-old baby boomer. I've been a blogger and tweeter for many years on x.com and TruthSocial. I was drawn to this social network because I love writing and posting, and even better if I win money from it. I'm very interested in geopolitics, especially conspiracy theories that turned out to be true. I believe we're living through World War III or the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and that our Western Civilization is falling apart...
