This life we live,
It’s not a treat.
It’s not ice cream,
It’s not sweet sweet.
Its hardwork, Not a treat

Mama wakes up very early,
She makes akara at the street.
She wants to feed her children well, Even when there’s no meat. Its hardwork, Not a treat

Daddy wears one old trouser,
Goes to work with strong hands.
He carries wood, he works so hard,
To take care of the land.

That uncle pushing wheelbarrow,
From morning till it's night.
He saves small money every day, To make ends meet for family.Its hardwork, Not a treat

Sister that sells puff-puff in school during daylight,
Reads her books at night and eventually passed her test, she got good grades,
Now her future is bright.
Its hardwork, Not a treat

We line up just to buy fuel,
Sometimes we wait so long.
Sometimes we fight, sometimes we don't,
.Its hardwork, Not a treat

This life we live is not easy,
But we don’t cheat or lie.
We work, we pray, we help each other...

So when you see us happy,
Please know we worked for it.
With sweat, with love, with all our heart,
Because this life—
It’s not a treat.
