Kaiseki at 300yo House

Sooooo, if you happen to be obsessed with good food and dining experience, culture and nature, there is a perfect place to indulge all of them at once. It's not a secret, but it's also not a common place tourists know when visiting Japan. 

It all started when my Japanese boss gave me "omiyage", a souvenir, usually food or local delicacy bought from the place where someone travelled to. It was a bread stick glazed with brown sugar and black sesame.    I immediately googled the place and the rest was history! This has become a spot where we take our guests to experience authentic Japanese dining.

Since it is autumn season, the timing couldnt be more perfect, the view of the foliage backdrop of the river stream was mesmerizing. Kurochaya has a cafe to let you enjoy this view before moving into its private dining rooms. It is possible to walk in for dinner, however, booking ahead is always recommended. 

They had 3 options for course meal; of course we had to choose the best one. More food, more smiles (not really, I had to unbutton my pants to breathe properly)! 

Have you experienced Japanese omotenashi (hospitality)? This is probaby one of the best places I have ever dined at. It was Philip's birthday, and they were too sweet to arrange candles and small gifts for him. We all left with big bellies and a slight difficulty to walk because we were too bloated.
