My Steem Journey - Update 07

Hi everyone, I hope you're having a great weekend. Here is another update on my STEEMJOURNEY. This will be shorter compared to my other updates as nothing much has happened since last week. For this update, I will share my gradual shift in creating more relevance and substantial posts, my Steem Bounty experience, my thoughts on the weakening of STEEM against fiat, and update on my SBI lotto contest.

As what I have mentioned above, nothing too significant happened in the past week. It was a sort of a business-as-usual for me, especially in the area of curation. I content myself on reading posts from the people I follow and browsing trending and rising topics on various tags particularly in steem, cryptocurrency, photography, life, and gardening.

In the past few days, I have written two posts which I think made me decided to posts not too frequently like before but instead focus on writing pieces on the topics that I know or have something to share. In the past, I posts frequently just by sharing Dlike posts or snapping quick photos from my phone and just uploading them onto the blockchain with a one-liner description. While I think this is just normal, when I wrote Your Purpose-Driven Steem Life and Steem is a Microcosm of a Capitalist Society, I was convinced that I should rather write similar things, though longer than my previous posts before, as rewards are far more larger than my old posts. They haven't reached a full 1.0 STU actually, but the response in terms of upvotes across tribes is I think was way way better than the kind of posts I shared before. In fact, I have earned a number of new followers from those two posts.

It is my sudden interest to provide more topic-focused posts rather than quick shorter ones that I also thought of providing the same amount of comments to topics that I am interested in. This is where it led me to Steem Bounty, a website that rewards users with STEEM or SBD by completing certain tasks. I already participated in a couple of them and I will regularly check the website for more bounties that I can join and be a part in.

When I came back to be active in Steem again, the price of STEEM is about 27 cents (USD), and the time of this writing, it has been pegged at 18.4 cents to the USD. I am no crypto expert but one thing I believe that is influencing the decreasing value of STEEM is the amount of supply of the tokens in the Steem blockchain. Again, it is a law of supply and demand, and as the supply is high, the price comes down. I like tribes, but I believe that the more tokens that the tribes create add to the "overall" supply of STEEM, which affects its price. Some might argue that there have been many ERC20 tokens but the same does not happen to Ethereum. What I know that many of these tokens have a different purpose and are used independently from Ethereum. In Steem, it is different, you can use the main blog in Steem and cross-post all your content to various tribes and earn their respective tokens, which for me is synonymous to just earning the "same currency (STEEM)" regardless of what token(s) is/are earned. That's where the supply and demand law kicks in.
