Fried Crab Wonton
Fried Crab Wonton (Wonton Recipe)Ingredients
40 to 50 wonton or gyoza wrappers
for the Filling::::
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
3 Tablespoons chopped ginger
1/2 cup chopped shallot
1/2 cup chopped green onion
1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper
Hand full of Cilantro, chopped
2 1/2 cup real crab meat
salt and black pepper
1 cup vegetable oil
Directions
Heat a large skillet over high heat. Add oil to pan, swirl to coat. Add ginger, shallot, green onion and red bell pepper; sauté 1 minute stirring frequently.
Remove from heat. Add cilantro, crab meat; mix well. Add salt and black pepper for taste.
Meanwhile, remove the wrappers from package, cover with damp towel.
Lay one wrapper on a work surface and damp edges with water. Put a teaspoon crab meat mixture in center and fold over mixture to form a triangle. Press edges to seal with your finger for a fork.
Repeat with remaining wrappers and crab meat mixture.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep.
Add wontons and cook for 30 seconds each side or until crispy and golden brown.
Remove, place on paper towel.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
