SundayScentExperience - Peonias
This flower has the most wonderful scent! Peonias bloom very early this year, because there are much warmer than used to be. Peonias also called as "Pentecost roses" (Pünkösdi rózsa), because generally blooms at Pentecost. That is why it is a symbol of resurrection. At Pentecost Masses, peonia petals were scattered from village church towers.
Peonia - with its elegant, gentle but classic style - is the symbol of romance, love, respect, wealth and beauty in all forms. There is also the view that those who put peonia petals in bathing water in the evening will be more beautiful in the morning. Peonias are considered to bring prosperity and happiness.
In England, peonia is also called as "bowl of beauty". In the Czech Republic, it has also been named as "the rose of Mary"
