Today we went to the Silver Spring Farmers Market. 👩‍🌾🥔🥕🍆🍅🍏

A farmers market is a place where farmers can sell their products directly to consumers.

The fruits, vegetables, and herbs that you get at a farmers market are often fresh, organic, and in season.

Right now it is fall/autumn, so there are lots of delicious apples, root vegetables (potatoes, carrots, turnips, radishes, etc.), squash, pumpkins, brussels sprouts, kale, and cranberries.

*in season: the time of year when the fruit/vegetable is freshest and most delicious

These are some vegetables that are currently in season. We eat a lot of pumpkins, squash, and sweet potatos in winter and fall, because that is when they are in season. (That is when they are at their peak/the most delicious)

I had a za'atar bagel with cream cheese.
Bagels are a popular breakfast food in the US, and they are often available as street food.
Za'atar is a Middle East herb/spice blend that has sesame seeds in it.
