PRE - WEDDING : LDR (Long Distance Relationship)
Pre-wedding picture sessions are becoming more popular these days among couples. It gives couples the ability to capture key moments in their love story before getting married. A photographer is always honored to capture such a significant event.
I had the honor of taking pictures of a long-distance couple's pre-wedding session this past Saturday. The future wife is a Filipino teacher, while the prospective husband works abroad. After long-distance dating for several years, they finally got to meet in person. As they told me about their love, I could see the happiness and excitement on their faces.
Two locations—a Catholic Shrine and a beach resort in San Remigio—were used for the photo shoot. The places we chose were a big hit with the couple because they held special significance for them. They went to the Catholic Shrine to pray for their romance to succeed after their first date, which they had at the beach resort.
We had to start the day early in order to catch the sunrise while it was most gorgeous. The shoot started at the beach resort at nine in the morning. The pair was dressed in casual beachwear, and the beach and the blue waves provided the perfect setting. As the couple wandered hand in hand along the beach, laughing and sharing private moments, I captured candid photos of them.
We quickly changed into new clothing before continuing to the Catholic Shrine. The couple's elegant clothes complemented the shrine's meditative atmosphere perfectly. Although though the photo shoot at the shrine was more planned, the pair still managed to have fun.
I observed how much the pair cherished and relished each other's company throughout the day. They talked about their long-distance relationship and it was clear they were close. It was my intention as a photographer to convey their love story and the feelings they experienced in each picture.
As the session ended at 4 pm, the couple was ecstatic with the results. They treasured the pictures, and it was an honor for me to be able to capture their romantic journey on camera. The pre-wedding photo shoot was more than just a chance for photos; it also served as a way for the couple to get to know one another better.
