Privacy vs Convenience, the AI wearable case

For a while there has been this debate about the privacy we give out to the new AI engines from large conglomerates. But even those people are the first one to recognize that we are all in a minority and most people don't care about their data or privacy. And to a degree, is understandable as it doesn't present an immediate harm, just like any other leak.

The new wave of AI infused hardware is coming in a similar fashion as the internet of things came, these time, smarter. Or at least wired to a multi billion dollar brain. From a consumer point of view, it looks fantastic. Siri multiplied by 100 all over your body, and personal space.

After almost a good decade and such of smart speakers with Alexa and Siri and Google Nest. This next wave of devices are way smarter and will get literally more in your face. Why be on your lamp or coffee desk when it can be on your nose, your chest, and fingers.

Scrolling through Amazon is a frenzy of AI infused devices like rings, watches, pendants, glasses and chest pocket robots.

From AI agents to now actual robots will start taking over, at least they already saturating the market. And it comes in different shapes and forms. From a plushy panda bear, to an innocent pendant toy. The multibillion dollar brain will sneak into your life watching every step you take.

I have never been a doom and gloom/we all going to die person. But what's coming is a bit concerning when you think about privacy. I don't think that anything immediate will happen. But is clear that we will grow more and more dependent on AI, and AI will understand more about our behavior as we go along.

Will the AI enslave humanity? Don't think so.

But will it gets more information from you that you can even be conscious off? No question.

And to a degree, we want this, we want to monitor our sleep, if we snore or not. We want to monitor our driveway, if someone is looking around our house or not. We want to remind us our very important meeting and tell us when is our bills due. But it will be harder and harder to keep doing those things and at the same time, keep ourselves anonymous.
