Cilok is a type of typical food from West Java. The name Cilok comes from the Kirata language, which means plugged in. Aci in Sundanese means sago. Sago is the main raw material for making cilok.
Cilok sellers usually hang out in crowded places where women and children are visitors. Because Cilok is usually liked by mothers and children. Using a cilok seller's cart, push the cart from one crowded place to the next. Sometimes cilok sellers even offer their wares by walking around the village looking for buyers.
There are various variants of cilok with different flavors. There are chicken-flavored cilok, fish-flavored cilok, and meat-flavored cilok. Cilok is served with the main seasoning made from peanuts, chili sauce and soy sauce.
Although cilok is only made from sago, many people like it. The main characteristic of cilok is its chewy taste when eaten.
