Green Mountain
Well you know what they say
that it will come one day
that it will come to us all
the biggest tree will fall
And as the fire burns
when it’s our time to return
our turn to leave it all behind
let go the body and the mind
Then just the phoenix remains
no more worries, no more pains
the true self rises once again
it’s the beginning not the end
So waken sleeping soul
now is the time to be whole
Green Mountain waiting there for you
just climb on up and you’ll see the view
I wrote this in 2017 just after the historic fire burned my house and 1000 others to the ground. Everything was destroyed, and I had to rise from the ashes. It was a time of spiritual testing, and has burned up all my karma, leaving me feeling liberated. After all, we all have to leave the body and everything else eventually. The historic fire was a preparation in transcendence.
