How do you restrain your tongue
Your maturity in Christianity is predetermined by your ability to control your tongue. (James 3:2) James gave us a workable formula for restraining our tongues. He said we should be swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath, (James 1:19). It is mark of wisdom to speak a few words. (Proverbs 17:27). Our Lord Jesus Christ advised that, our words should be 'yes' or 'no'. (Matthew 5:37). Why is it so? It is because in many words, there is transgression (Proverbs 10:19). James said, that our mouth ought to be fountains of sweet waters (James 3:2,3:8-18, 2Timothy 2:19-20)
