NASA's new space suit

At last! and after some problems and delays it seems that NASA has the new space suits ready to be able to walk on the moon in multiple missions that are scheduled.
On Wednesday, March 15, during an event at the Houston space center in Texas, NASA selected the company Axiom Space to develop the suits for the Artemis 3 mission, the mission that will take Humans to the moon again, specifically to the Lunar South Pole, if there are no further delays this would occur in the year 2025.
NASA already had the spacesuits for the Apollo mission, but it must be taken into account that more than 50 years have passed since the Apollo missions and the technological improvement compared to the spacesuits of the last century is remarkable, both in communications and in creation. of new materials and systems that allow more and better quality equipment to be carried.
Also the new suits have been made with the idea that it is more flexible and that the astronauts can make more movements, because the tasks of the Artemis missions will be much more complex than those of the Apollo missions.
One of the original features of the new suits is that they are a one-piece suit, they have a hatch at the back where the astronauts would enter, so in a way they are like a mini spaceship adapted to the shape of the human body.
The Artemis program wants to lay the foundations for a permanent human presence on the moon and that means building and maintaining a base on our natural satellite, as well as exploring and obtaining lunar natural resources such as water ice.

The space suit is called the Exploration Extra Vehicular Mobility Unit, AxEMU, by its acronym in English, by the way the prototype we see is black but the final lunar suit will have to be white in order to reflect heat and protect the extremely high temperature astronauts and one last curiosity the Axiom Space company collaborated with the costume designer Esther Marquis from the series “for all humanity”, in order to create the custom cape with the logo, the colors of the Axiom Space brand which can be seen in the images.
