Japan's space elevator.
Japan's space elevator.

Imagine being a space tourist launched to an incredible 35,000 km above the Earth all with the push of a button, that's right, a simple button could lift you into space giving you a dazzling view of our planet, this is the ambitious plan that the Japanese are developing.
The Obayashi Corporation, known for building the Tokyo Sky Tree Tower, is behind this crazy project. The company will announce that it is currently involved in the design, research and promotion of the project, in addition to seeking partners and raising funds to make it viable.
The space elevator is estimated to cost up to $100 billion, but promises to revolutionize the way we explore space. The Audaz project is a floating structure in the sea, positioned at the height of the equator connected to a terminal in geostationary orbit about 36,000 km above the Earth.
This terminal would be accessible through an underwater tunnel that will serve as both a departure and arrival point, and what's more, tourists will be able to experience a zero-gravity environment while moving through space.
One of the biggest difficulties is creating a cable long and strong enough to connect the ground to space and of course there are also safety challenges, storms and lightning can pose significant risks to the elevator moorings.
The idea of a space elevator is not new, it was proposed by the Russian scientist Constantin Ziolkowski in 1895, however, only now with technological advances are they beginning to see the possibility of transforming that dream into reality, imagine a future in which you could travel to space without rockets, however, do not expect to make this trip before 2050.
