Today I share with you one of my favorite things: the KENDAMA!

The kendama is a traditional Japanese skill toy dating back to the 17th century. It's very similar to ball-and-cup, but so much more complex. There are endless variations of tricks you can do with the kendama, which leads to countless hours of fun and challenging yourself to land that next that you've just almost got!

I've owned a kendama for 7+ years and have literally spent up to 12 hours at a time playing with it. It's very spiritual and you'll start to feel yourself connecting with the kendama as your body gets in rhythm with it. 'Flow Like Water' is a common phrase used in the kendama world, because you want to flow and be smooth with your tricks as you bend your knees and throw the ball and handle up in the air.

I demonstrate some of my favorite tricks with the kendama in the video above. If you're interested in it, google kendama and check out some of the top pros out there doing absolutely ridiculous tricks. You can also purchase a quality one for as cheap as around $13 USD.
