Now I Just Listen

I am quiet now
I just listen to them, and their stories
of suffering, the struggle
and all kinds of stuff.

I used to talk a few years ago
about other dimensional shit.

And a few years before that
I'd talk about my own pain.

Not anymore.

Now everyone wants to tell me their stories
So i just listen.

But I'm tired and so utterly empty.
I am tired of being open, but I know it is who I am.
I have compassion, I care.
But I'm just so damned tired.

I'm so tired that i want to take a lifelong vow of silence.

Maybe i am shutting down.
