Amazing Nature Contest - March 2021 #01
After dinner watching the (goggle box) T.V. with other half one evening I saw movement and thought is that a large spider, on second jumping around the room session declared we have a tiny mouse in the house. Next I pondered I had my beer to fast, was I seeing two, double trouble it was.
Small, bouncing around the room at speed, I said to leave them overnight, the weather is a tad wet outdoors we will find them in the morning. Next morning opened the glass door and whoops these two with very little coercion jumped straight out into the garden, with myself following camera in hand.
Researching this tiny little mouse the only answer in our region leads me to the African Pygmy Mouse, on this I may stand corrected, I have seen the single-striped mouse, cane rats the size of small cats, but never this odd couple before.

Average weight: 3-12g
Average Size: 1.2 and 3.1 in (length), 0.79 to 1.57 in (tail)
Habitat: Savanna, grassland, rocky habitats, suburban areas
Diet: Insects, seeds, fruit

Too small to handle I am happy they went on their own since handling such small animals would mean them possibly being hurt. Not the greatest photography not wishing to scare this little one to death, up against a tuft of Kikuyu grass, these two were the smallest mice I have ever seen.
