I Just Bought Some Silver.

Hey LEO, just wanted to post up a conversation post today. Interested to hear from you all about why you are stacking Gold and/or Silver.

Personally, up until very recently I never really payed any attention to Metals. But, with the way the world is going, and the fact that I am currently fully dependent on crypto to provide for my family, I have been rethinking. With all of my funds in crypto, what happens if the internet gets shut down, or fails for some other reason (solar flares or what not). Anyway, there are all sorts of doom and gloom predictions you could come up with around how all our crypto could become worthless overnight.

Do I think that will happen - no, not at all.

But what if?

So what is my plan C?

Plan A was getting ahead in the fiat world, and that resulted in 20 years of grinding to get pretty much nowhere.

Plan B is crypto, and so far so good for me on that front.

But I am feeling the need for a Plan C.

So I dipped my toe into the precious metals world, and purchased my first 4 ounces of Silver.

These came a couple of days ago, as my first order from the Perth Mint. 2 x 1oz Koala and 2 x 1ox Kangaroos.

I have another order in, for some more of the same, plus a 5g Gold bar. I don't really know what I am doing, but feel the need to put a little crypto profits into some physical metals.

I really don't rate these as investments, personally I don't see them having much use, except as a store of value. But if the world does go to the shit, then likely silver and gold will become much more important, and having some is a good idea.

So I guess you could say that my interest in precious metals now is basically a just in case, doomsday prepping type interest.

• Aside from being shiny and pretty, what is it about metals that attracts you to collecting them?

• Should I try to collect different, rarer coins?

• Or should I only worry about accumulating the weight?

• Should I focus on Silver, or Gold, or both?

• What about Platinum, is it worth stacking?

• Basically, anything else you think I should know as someone brand new to Precious Metals?
