Here's the ruleset

Lineup
Summoner: Kelya Frendul

Kelya is my first choice in the Explosive Weaponry ruleset for the armor buff and especially for the speed buff.

Tank: Diemonshark

You can see here again that I'm going for speed. My first choice for tank in the Explosive Weaponry ruleset is usually the Serpent of Eld like my opponent chose. The Serpent has the potential to dodge hits which spares damage to itself and to the monster behind it. The serpent also does 5 damage in this ruleset where Diemonshark only does 3 at level 1.

So why would I choose Diemonshark over Serpent of Eld here?

image.png

Serpent of Eld can't dodge magic attacks or earthquake damage. In the Earthquake ruleset my first choice for summoner would be Brighton Bloom but the dragon splinter was not available in this ruleset and the shields from Kelya soak up the first round of earthquake damage which should be enough with a fast paced Explosive Weaponry ruleset like this. Diemonshark has a much higher health total than the Serpent which is important here and a much higher armor total which doesn't help for Noxious Fumes but it does count towards earthquake damage.

1st position: Djinn Oshannus

image.png

Oshannus starts with 5 speed, 6 thanks to Kelya. Oshannus also has a high health total which isn't flying but it's good enough in this fast paced environment.

2nd and final position: Ice Pixie
Speed for the Explosive weaponry ruleset and flying for the Earthquake ruleset. This is an incredible monster for 2 mana, it's no wonder that my opponent and I both chose the Ice Pixie.

What I didn't include:

0 mana monsters. If I had placed a Chicken and/or Fiend behind the Diemonshark it would have taken up some blast damage from the Serpent of Eld and spared Djinn Oshannus from that specific blast damage. My opponent's Deeplurker would have hit it and had no chance of missing. Then the monster in front and behind would have taken blast damage. There's usually no downside to including 0 mana monsters but they become a liability in the Explosive Weaponry ruleset.

Did my strategy work?
Yes, I got the W here and accounted for multiple important aspects of the applicable rulesets.

What will I try differently next time?
Nothing. I was very happy with my lineup selections here. What my opponent came up with were some of the next best options and you can see that my strategy won out.

Do I like Ice Pixie?
Yes, the Ice Pixie packs a great punch with some great stats and abilities all for 2 mana. This monster is well worthwhile all over the board.
