AFRI-TUNES WEEK #49 || AGUNECHEMBA (Nnamdi Ewenighi) || Covered by jesus-son

Hello Hive Afri-tunes community week #49 my name is jesus-son and I come with my entry for the week. It is indeed joyful that we are nearing our one year anniversary of independent existence on the hive blockchain.

Before coming to join hive,I was unable to sing and play the musical instrument at the same time. When I started singing and playing, it was not funny at all 😅. I spent hours trying to do just a song of less than 5mins. But thanks to this community and indeed the entire hive blockchain for the opportunity to grow myself to be able to play and sing.

It has also assisted me to make solo presentations in occasions where there is no pianist to help me while I sing. I can now sing at least averagely well and play the piano at the same time. It is a thing of joy for me and I really thank the system for everything.

In this post, I will be making a cover of a highlife song dated more than 10 years old. It is an Igbo song from the Eastern part of Nigeria. It was produced by Nnamdi Ewenighi. It is titled: 'Agunechemba' meaning the lion that guards the city.

The song is one that describes God as a lion that defends or guards the city. It is situated within the Igbo land in particular, thus the constant mention of the Igbo people(the people in the Eastern part of Nigeria).

This is a beautiful song with lots of deep implications. It calls on God's people to be brave and not fear knowing that God is with them guiding and guarding them.

I did my best to sing the song perfectly but of course you know that man is never perfect and thus, there may be some faults, but surely not too many. I had to increase the key of the song by one because it seemed the key originally used was low for me.

I provided the English translation of the song right in the video alongside the main lyrics. I hope you enjoy my entry as I play my piano and sing.
