Being a horror film, the monkey premise already sounded like something that could go very well or very badly. With a Stephen King story behind it, one would expect something much more solid, but we know that not all adaptations are good. Something similar happened to me when I saw it; it felt endless. They tried to cram in a ton of stuff, and in the end, nothing worked. The script is a disaster, and the dark humor... instead of being scary, it made me want to laugh at how absurd the situation was. It's a shame because the monkey design is great, but it's not enough to save it.
