The long anticipated Christmas Carol done&dusted
Our Carol service was on the 18th of December (yesterday). Immediately after our choir concert, we started rehearsals for the carols, and it has been a wonderful experience.
Our team decided on a color and material that we will use for the uniforms we will wear at Christmas Carol. It was a native wine outfit in wine color.
I didn't waste any time making sure that I was prepared. Getting my dress ready wasn't so stressful for me because my sister @glorydee is a fashion designer. My dress was sewn by her.
All I had to provide was cash to buy the materials she needed. The dress came out beautifully and was a perfect fit for me.
Remember that I once wrote about the vocal care I was into? I think it's a wise idea to continue and not stop. The more I care, the more improvement I will see.
As usual, choir members were asked to get to church as early as 8 AM on Sunday morning. We had to rehearse that morning and also warm our vocal cords in preparation for the service.
The normal church service starts at 9:30 am but we started at exactly 9:00 am yesterday because of the activities that were lined up for the day.
As well as the carol, we had other activities including the 1-hour prayer to end the 12-day fast, the exchange of gifts, the love feast, and the children's Christmas party.
I had been worried about how we would do all of that, but it turned out well and was a success.
The Carol service started with the opening prayer and two choir presentations, followed by solo songs by each choir member.
When it was my turn to lead the choir, I noticed something different about myself. I think I wouldn't be out of line if I said that @hiveopenmic and
@afri-tunes helped boost my confidence.
In the past, my heart would start beating fast the moment I got on the stage to sing, and I would usually end up performing below my expectations.
I wouldn't say that my presentation yesterday was exactly what I expected, but I would say that I feel happy and satisfied with the improvements.
My vocals didn't sound hoarse, I wasn't tensed up, and I wasn't trembling like I used to.
KINDLY WATCH AND SUBSCRIBE😇 Thanks
This made me realize I had been doing all the right things to take care of my vocals. It is just a matter of doing it more and learning the techniques that will help me sing properly.
After the Carol Service, I couldn't get enough pictures. The main reason was that there was no sun hehe. The sun complements the pictures I take, and my phone's camera is always bright when there is sun.
After the carol, we continued with other activities and it was an amazing service. It was also a very long day.
On getting home, I received a congratulatory message saying that I had been shortlisted for a live audition I applied for.
The audition is on December 24th, 2022. I am excited about it too. Even though I have no idea what to expect, I believe it will be fun.
On that day, I will take pictures and videos and share them here.
