Unemployed. To Embarrassed To Ask.

You know it's hard to ask for help. I turned 50 years old in August. I've always been srlf sufficient. Now, I find Myself involuntarily unemployed.
Since last December I have submitted 270+ applications for employment. I don't want to beg. And I don't ask for much.
I am not an alcoholic, drug user, or addicted to gambling.
I am a military veteran. Widower (7 years). Father of two: A son and daughter. 19 y.o. and 18 y.o.
My daughter is in her senior year of high school.
